CONTACT USEnabling your charity to take card and contactless donations with Payaz is a very simple process. Whilst every organisation has unique requirements, the basic principle for all our digital giving solutions remains the same.
To collect donations you need method to enable donors to give (Payaz) and a way to handle the transactions (payment processor).
There are three things to consider; How does it work, what does it cost and what is the return on investment? Below is a straightforward guide to answer these questions.
At Payaz we provide the physical and digital tools to enable you to collect and manage donations in person or online. We team up with our payment partners (such as SumUp and Stripe) to manage the actual transactions.
With that in mind, to get started you’ll need two or three things (depending on how you plan to collect donations):
1. Donation device
Firstly, if you plan on collecting ‘in person’ donations, you’ll need something for your donors to tap on such as a freestanding kiosk or a handheld unit. We have lots of options for this covering a wide range of uses and budgets.
When your device/s arrive, you’ll log in with your Payaz account details (see below) and connect the device to the payment processor. If you only plan on collecting online, you can skip this step completely.
2. Payaz account
This account is your key enabler for collecting and managing donations. After creating your Payaz account you’ll have access to a vast range of fundraising tools through our online portal.
From the Payaz portal you can manage your devices, create both device & web appeals, monitor your donations, Gift Aid, understand donors and much more.
Please note: When you’re signing up, you’ll need to upload a document showing your charitable status (eg’ charity number or cause that you’re fundraising on behalf of) and you’ll need a payment card for your monthly subscription. Don’t forget 3 months free with ‘3FREE’ code at the checkout.
3. Payment processor
This is the account used to process the transactions. Your payment process account/s are linked to the Payaz platform both for device and online donations.
We work with SumUp as our trusted payment processor on our devices and for online donations, SumUp or Stripe options are available. We can set up you up with processor accounts or you can connect existing accounts.
You can complete these steps in any order, although we find that following the order below works best.

Each of the three elements required have associated costs to consider which can vary depending on the product that you select. However, the same process for calculating costs applies to all:
1. Hardware
If you require a physical device to collection donations you will need to purchase it first. All of our devices use the same software and donation methods so your main consideration is how the device will be used and initial cost of the purchase.
2. Software
Our software has monthly fee of £10+vat or €15 per month. Your first 3 months are free (use code: 3FREE at the check out).
Your software subscription covers up to 5 devices*, unlimited webs appeals and direct debits. You are free to create as many appeals as you like and use all of the available features. There’s no limit on the amount that you can raise.
3. Payment processor
Payaz customers benefit from our special charitable rate (with SumUp) of 1.49%***.
If you’re already with SumUp you can also use your existing account. Or if you intend on using Stripe for online donations you can connect your account or create a new one from within our platform.

Is it really that simple?
Yes, there are, of course, some set up related tasks like creating up your first appeal or connecting the card reader via Bluetooth but if you set up your payment and software accounts before the hardware arrives you could be taking donations 20 minutes after the device is delivered.
